Yes, the reduced spacing between the fuselages should also improve the balance.

Question for Stargazer2006 : when you said « not-fuselages » are only booms that must be useless except holding tail and including fuel tanks (and undercarriage ?) : what about engines with turbos and coolers (P-38) or jets (Borovkov-Florov D, here what-ifed without piston engine) and tail gunners (NA-116, here what-ifed as twin-engine short span) ?

To me they are booms, I wouldn't even question it, but I do agree there is an element of complete subjectivity to it!

The rather famous Blohm und Voss asymmetric P.111 was featured at http://www.luft46.com/bv/bvp111.html but… asymmetry was disliked in 1944, so was considered an unknown symmetric P.111Z. This one is single-boom twin-hull somehow, but the twin-boom derivative would come just after.
