Whiffing since the 70s

Tophe, you called?  cheesy Grin

OUTSTANDING!

What a magnificent idea, and at last there'd be no torque reaction on take-off, a big problem with all Griffon engined Spitfires. With two engines the range would be a tad limited but wouldn't it GO!?  Grin  Cheers!

Funnily enough I just bought the Airfix PR19 yesterday and I'm looking at it with evil eyes already.

Equally co-incidentally I saw that contra-prop PR19, the one in the scource photo, the day before it's post-rebuild first flight some years ago at Chino in the US. I can't imagine why Supermarine didn't fit the 19 with contra-props in the first place, apart from the expense of course. Apparently the real contra-prop PR19 here is only that way because the guy who re-built it got hold of an ex-Shackelton Griffon and it already came with the gearbox!

Thanks everyone for the comments and sorry for the belated reply! Grin

Totally agree Kit! Thumbs Up
Possibly, the range problem could be partially solved with drop tanks! rolleyes

(The 'Super PR19' is obviously inspired by my previous Ta-152-2M profile.)

I applied the same modifications to a 3D model and the result is the SuperTyphoon...

The 'Jack' Northrop's N-10TB was a twin-boom alternative to the N-9MB design, closer to his 1929 flying wing!

I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

And with the shadow proof, this little T is very real, not a fake picture at all (impossible, NASA Apollo experts confirmed). Thanks to bring this prototype to light from top secret archives. The public has the right to know where tax money goes! Grin (if this is for a cute little aircraft with T-tail, paying taxes is OK) Grin

Agreed! Thumbs Up Grin

The NASA AD-3 was built as an AD-1 successor, to compare and explore the aerodynamic behaviour
between different wing/geometry transitions.
Its complex VG system, allows different configurations, from strait to oblique wing... rolleyes

Gosh. I am so utterly impressed by your constant progress and imagination, EB! Hadn't visited your pages in a while, decided to catch up today and was surprised by a few things... First of all the Skybolt/Hogcat project, then the UCAV Flanker... Not knowing about your recent work, I did my own UCAV Flanker and my own fighter version of the "Hog"... Scary! It almost seems we think alike! (though at times, when I look at the great asymmetric P-38 or the crazy N-10TB, it would seem you are more of the same mind with Tophe!!!). The AD-3 rocks, and as a matter of fact, I wouldn't mind featuring it on my Rutan site... when I finally get around to updating it!

I am completely, definitely, utterly stunned by the beauty of your Super Peashooter and Super-Spit. Makes you wonder why none of the engineers at the time came up with such versions, they are screaming to be made in plastic, I'm telling you! I will definitely NOT make the mistake of staying away from your gallery for so long, I would miss on too much good stuff going on!
