I've featured your XB-25T with an asymmetric addition of mine at
http://www.whatifmodelers.com/index.php/topic,20326.210.html
Thanks!

I did not noticed the name of this WONDERFUL site about Rutan/Scaled airplanes, of which I have printed dozens of pages... Congratulations!

For my own sites and books, I will send you a PM in French.

This is one of those moments...

(drum sound...)  Party

Here is the Douglas YP-48A Skyfighter... My very first computer re-creation (recreation)... from scratch!  afro

So far I've always adapted existing photographs... Not this time!
This time I've created everything using bits and pieces from various sources, but mostly the airbrush. I need to add that the paneling pattern and cannon inserts are my own invention.

Of course the background is just a photograph found on the web...

I really hope you guys like it... and if you do, there will be more stuff like it in the future!  Thumbs Up

Very, very nice, Stargazer.  Make sure to keep the sun in mind when you do ones in the future.  Looks good, though.

Cheers,

Logan

Thank you so much for the encouragements, Logan!

You're absolutely right about the sun, and so I modified the image by reversing the background so that the light now comes from the right...  Bow

Hey, Stargazer.  I think your stuff is absolutely great.  I enjoy what you and apophenia do with photographs immensely.  I'm not that good with photo-manipulation.

I have one for you, but it doesn't fit all of your rules (although most).

Could I get you to modify this photograph:

http://www.flightglobal.com/blogs/aircraft-pictures/2008/07/08/29004slarge.jpg

to include one of the XB-51s in this photo:

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/b/b7/Martin_XB-51_061026-F-1234S-003.jpg

in this scheme:

http://www.whatifmodelers.com/index.php/topic,20962.msg362272.html#msg362272

I'd recommend using the one with people standing around it, flipping the image, then placing it where the white car is in between the Canberra and the Vulcan on the right.

That something you can do and might sound interesting to you?

Care for a scheme on a Viking, Frogfoot, or Panther or mine in repayment?

Thanks,

Logan

Logan, I almost missed this post of yours! Of course your project suits me! The Martin 234 has long been a favorite with me and the RAF scheme you're pointing to really impressed me... Sounds like a job for Sup... I mean, Stargazer!

Okay, first step of the work: cutting out the first Panther on the left... I chose to leave the folks and material around to make it look more realistic... although I think the uniforms (or lack thereof) would have been unimaginable on an RAF base! (I could be wrong...) If anyone knows of a good source for RAF ground personnel, I'm willing to make some changes on this too...

Second step: removing all markings and identification from the aircraft...

Third step: get the plane ready for inclusion with all the required markings and "colors" (in this case greytones):

Looking good, Stargazer.  I'd suggest flipping it at this stage before putting it into the photograph so it's facing the same way as the Vulcan (check the light, though!).  You shouldn't be able to read the serial at that distance, anyway, so I wouldn't sweat the flip's effect on it.

Cheers,

Logan

Logan, how about this for a start? Any remarks, criticism, suggestions? Shame the Victor photo is small...

I have yet to work on the second Panther, which will take its place (unflipped) on the right hand-side of the picture.

Very nice, but can you do a version where it's further back, actually between the Canberra and Vulcan but in line with them.  After the post below, I wanted to see if we couldn't fabricate some "proof" of its existence.  I thought having it way up in foreground of a photo would be too much of a giveaway, but tucked away in the background would be more believable.

http://www.secretprojects.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,7495.msg69920.html#msg69920

For the second B-51, how about you use this one:

http://www.whatifmodelers.com/index.php/topic,20962.msg360361.html#msg360361

That one is from a unit in Great Britain, so maybe it's visiting for the airshow, as there is only supposed to be one Handley-Page Panther at this time.

Cheers,

Logan

Like this? Really, it is too small to be properly seen I think...
