In my twin-boom topic (http://www.whatifmodelers.com/index.php/topic,20326.300.html ) were presented what-if P-82/51 slanting views, converted here as profiles (in the spirit of the book « Virtual Mustangs »), sometimes mirror copy to show better. Thanks EB & SG2006 !

Inspired by Stargazer2006's Caudron C.1160 Grin at http://www.whatifmodelers.com/index.php/topic,26120.570.html (the way I read it, before he confirms or denies), I imagine a new family of Mustangs. Streamlining the windscreen does not come from a slope seen on side view but by a V-shape, sharp seen from above, while vertical on side view...
According to my taste, these are very ugly Mustangs, but that is a true addition to the family, helping to understand what I like or else dislike. Thanks Stargazer! Thumbs Up

At http://www.whatifmodelers.com/index.php/topic,24074.525.html Jorel62 invented delicious twin-engined Mustangs. I complete them here with asymmetric single-engine derivatives:

At http://www.whatifmodelers.com/index.php/topic,24074.555.html Jorel62 presented another P-51 derivative, twin-boom twin-engined, with a Bf110 pod: the F-4B Black Dog. Replacing this pod by a P-51D-like one, I got the P-51N-3.
Of course, this could be either a twin-engined twin-boom plane (symmetric) or an asymmetric single-engined single-boom plane (like the reverted P-51N-4).  The P-51N-5 is the same witout bubble canopy, closer to the P-51B.

A twin engined Mustang? That's like an American Hornet (DH Hornet that is...)

Magic idea!  cheesy

This new (single cockpit) twin-engined Mustangs come after many ones in my book "Virtual Mustangs" (freely downloadable at http://cmeunier.chez-alice.fr/Free_EoFG_MV.htm ), but Kit you should wait as I am posting you this afternoon the last bound copies of these books. Grin
