With the Yuriev Kit-1 and Focke-Wulf 189B (resin models with vacform canopies), I had successfully taken the lesson of my XP-77 failure: I include putty in the canopy (to be painted black later) in order to turn it solid, then I handle it like a plastic/Plexiglas part, with putty and easy sanding. But the double XP-77 was the failure that led me there: sanding the putty made holes, than putty and sanding again, then holes again… 5 times, in months, I was half disgusted. So last week I tore away the too fragile canopies and replaced them by putty alone…
Alas the Tamiya Basic putty is too liquid, not a solid matter like the Humbrol putty was…

Anyway, step by step, before April 1st, I hope the model may be finished…

huh Uh? The XP-77 was a Bell very Real plane (see http://www.hannants.co.uk/search/?FULL=SH7212 ), and mine is a double 77, kinda 154 but not Tu-154 (see http://www.hannants.co.uk/search/?FULL=EA14405 )

Like my Caudron and SAAB (and future Twin-Goblin and Twin-Buffalo) half of the double plane is normal while the other half is aesthetically improved according to my standards... Blink  evil  Wink

Well, this is clean now:

I just have yet to paint the faired black canopies, and this will be done, at last...

Here is the poor final result. This XP-77Z makes a cousin to the double C.714, with one nose aesthetically improved and only external tailplanes, similarly.
