Lots of good inputs, Thanks everyone! Working on the cockpit and cabin so far. A little painting tonight. I'll have to trim the A-10 wings a bit or they will stick beyond the rotors. I've been looking at the tail and I wonder how hard it would be to add a fan in fin system. If not then A-10 style fins with rudders will be an option.
The TF-34's are in a 9000 lb thrust range and would provide the high speed force. I was watching Coast Guard Alaska and started thinking of a Coast Guard paint job. A high speed aircraft that could hover and hoist for rescue etc. would be attractive for them.
I have thought about a four engine CH-53 before, on the I'll get to it sometime list. If I get two kits I could make the cabin wider.
One thing at a time. At least the room is done and the wife is happy.

Given the cost of such a projected bird it might be circa 2060 if it were Coast Guard.

Been working on the cockpit and cabin, not much to photograph. Also worked out the landing gear. Two wheel nose gear from the S-3 and two wheel main gears using the A-10 main gear and spare wheels. I'll have the main gear retract into sponsons like the MH-53. Going to be a busy weekend so progress will slow down for a while.

Retractable heavy gear supports A-10 level external stowage. Numerous sea rescue, large inflatables traditionally carrier by c-130s for instance.

I noticed Coast Guard H-60s carrying large fuel tank like containers where Navy choppers carry torpedos etc. Does anyone know what these are? I suspect inflatable life rafts or something simular. Maybe some sort of conformal container to save fuel.

Not really up on Coasty stuff. Patterns, etc. are pretty uninspiringly unfuturistic, but here is an interesting camo pattern. the H-60 is down the page.

The H-60 pattern is very interesting. While it would be a challenge in 1/72nd scale I will look into it some more.
I've been working on the wing fuselage attachment. I had to trim the wings about 1/4 inch. I'm working on sponsons between the present A-10 wheel well and the fuselage. I need more room for the double main gear. I'm also trying to get the main gear as far to the rear as possible so that the model looks balanced on the ground. I'll try to post some pics tonight.

These things?

They're fuel tanks. HH-60Js can carry up to three of these - two on the port side pylon and one on the starboard side pylon.

I just did not think of those as gas bags! I guess the goofy looking fins threw me off. Thanks for the info.

Finally a few pics. Painted the cockpit basic black and grey.
Wings attached to the lower part of the S-3 fuselage. It took two tries to get this right.
I've already ground off the molded on wheels so I can use the wheel well as a ECM pod mounting point. Need to get back to the cabin and cockpit so I can close it up.

Thanks for the positive comments.
A friend of mine on another forum suggested this brutal mama should carry the ultimate one shot, one kill, weapon--a rolling pin!
Now I have to build a rolling pin with a rocket motor and fins to mount on a Maverick launcher and see if anyone notices! Plus some appropriate nose art.

Sounds like he should pay you to build a new one for him _<, although a bowling ball depiction on the bulbous forward lower section might look everso subtle & eyecatching . Maybe appearing as an offset, embedded triple lens assemblies etc..

The longer fuselage is really great and something that should have been done in the real world, but probably limits small ship landing.. (So make the Navy ship helipad and ship bigger.
