April 23 2002 Got doodling in my lunch hour. What if Arnhem was a success and the Allies roll into Germany earlier than they did. They advance to the East but the Russians don't like it and start to fight the other Allies. The Gernman forces are hurridly vetted, rid of any Nazis, and re-equipped with allied weapons. Adolf Galland gets his wish and JV44 is re-equipped with Spitfires.

April 29 2002 The reason that Adolf Galland could not keep his 262 was that production was moved from Germany to Hawker's factory at Langley. Rolls Royce took the Jumo 004 and transformed it (by superior British engineering) into the Rolls Royce Kennet, a reliable engine which didn't catch fire. Hawkers added a teardrop canopy and the plane was issued to the RAF and USAAF as the Hawker Swallow F.1. Adolf Galland was to fly the Meteor IV in combat against the Russians but that's another story...............
